Bruges greeted us like a scene from a fairytale. We arrived by bus, and the walk into the city center was a gentle introduction to its timeless beauty—cobblestone paths, ivy-draped facades, and the quiet elegance of swans gliding across the canals.

As we wandered deeper into the heart of the city, we were surrounded by centuries-old buildings that seemed to whisper stories of medieval merchants and Flemish painters. The architecture was stunning—ornate gables, weathered stone, and windows that caught the light just right.

One of the highlights was a boat tour through the canals. Floating past hidden gardens, arched bridges, and tucked-away courtyards gave us a whole new perspective on Bruges. It was peaceful, romantic, and surprisingly informative.

Of course, no trip to Belgium is complete without indulging in its famous treats. We stopped for a warm, golden waffle topped with powdered sugar—simple and perfect. Then came the chocolates: rich, velvety, and almost too pretty to eat. We couldn’t resist picking up a few to take home. And for a festive touch, we found delicate lace ornaments that will add a bit of Bruges magic to our Christmas tree this year.

After a full day of exploring, we opted for a taxi back rather than retracing our steps to the bus stop—a mile away and just a bit too far after all that walking. It was the perfect end to a day filled with charm, history, and sweet surprises
